Often, really. I look at my partner, and a friend of mine, who roll so much better with stuff, with stress and with things going wrong that they hadn't banked on. I want to be more like them. I feel sometimes like the wheels attached to my wagon are square ones. Trying to file down the sharp corners :)

So thank you for your comments, but I needed to say that so I don't appear hypocritical, hehe :)

Our fears are made so much stronger living in such a competitive society, aren't they?. Our system pits us against each other, fuelling our limbic systems, when cooperation would achieve so much more. It's just all so bloody tiresome.

Kindness is the new black, I reckon :)

I agree, social media has got some really shitty things about it :)

Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01122659239039900398noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4879615387850345622.post-36340809963649395782013-07-28T12:54:38.425+10:002013-07-28T12:54:38.425+10:00OMG, this is SO well written!
Intelligent, insight...OMG, this is SO well written!
Intelligent, insightful, thoughtful, un-biased and carefully speculative.
Respect.

Why do the Andrew Bolts of this world have the ears of the masses, when people such as you should instead??
Perhaps people would be more considerate, I think :)

Although, people are who/what they are, and will always (sadly) be, reactionary.

The twitters you mention seem so like school-yard banter. Not much changes for some, regardless of age, gender and/or perceived intelligence.
Taking away someone's "favourite toy" as punishment just causes more hatred - and directs it at the person who generated it.
Instead of a group of faceless extremists, this guy has a "real" target to direct his bigotry towards.
Dangerous.
Even though we shouldn't live in fear of repercussions, I wouldn't think that was very smart on her behalf.
Nor would it "teach him a lesson", or make him a better person by seeing the error of his judgement and "flawed character".
Does the women attempt to show how much power she has by trying to influence the man's beloved club against him?
How to get noticed - in a bad way.

Seems like a vicious circle of pointless punishment reacting to hate and violence which cause more of the same. Doesn't seem to be very pro-active.

I love your opening paragraphs. So honest and I can SO relate.

Acceptance.
Why is it so difficult, for so many?
Even if it is hard for some to stretch to "love", surely acceptance of others and their opinions, lifestyles, religion, (insert personal choice here), would mean a calmer, more positive world.
There would be less medical afflictions for a start, surely.
Bottled up angst and negativity is very unhealthy.

Live and let live?

It's an ideal I'm afraid.
And, I'm NOT perfect either. Far from it.
But I do get so frustrated when I see/hear people get their undies in a twist over things they have no business in doing.
Personal beliefs are just that. Personal.

But when some factions band together and feel they have strength in similar beliefs, things can get a little, scary.

Aside from the advantages, social media can often create massive shit stirring.

Oh well, I feel I'm drifting off topic.

Great post Sue. You are brilliant!
Vickihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16023748614942747415noreply@blogger.com
