T-shirts

Saturday 6 September 2008

I saw a few t-shirts at the market today that I really wanted to buy (I was looking for an "I'm Blogging This" one but I couldn't find one :)

One of them was that t-shirt that said:
"Jesus is alright but his followers are crap" or something like that. Which would be good to wear on premenstrual days or when I've been legalistically vomited over (which doesn't happen much anymore, actually, and never on this blog. I don't get any legalistic blow-ins like certain of my blog buds get. Perhaps I am just beyond salvation.

Which I'm sure would be evidenced by the fact that this t-shirt made me laugh out loud and I think maybe I will buy one :)

  1. I have a bumper sticker (that I posted above my bulletin board in my office at the college) that reads "God is coming and is She pissed!"
BTW, our election will be on October 14. I am not optimistic.

  2. LOL I have a "I'm Blogging This" Tshirt. I got it a couple years ago from ThinkGeek.

And I have a lapel pin that says "God is Coming and man is She Pissed!" too.

I guess I'm in good company.

Well, Sue, I guess we're in the same boat. The minute I read that shirt I did laugh out loud. What's more, I think I heard Papa laughing with me. >:)

  4. sue this post made me laugh
and i so want an "I'm blogging this" t-shirt, I may just try and make my own
then it made me sad . . . to think that the main message or vibe christians give out is one of busyness
as one who is unlearning this "way of being" i have to say i much prefer the unforced rhythms of grace

  5. Well, what a fine little bunch of hellbound heretics you all are, then :)

Kel, I didn't read it that way, I must say. I was reading it as something that someone who doesn't even believe Jesus is coming might think. But it's funny either way, really :)

Yes, the whole busyness deal. I have been thinking for a while that the most powerful thing any Christian could do is to live a life of unbusyness ... how ironic that the Church is so willing to follow the spirit of the age :( Blergh

But still, the unforced rhythms of grace :) Isn't it a weird feeling when you know how it feels to start walking in that kind of space (feels like silk rustling against your bare legs) and yet 5 minutes later we're out in the frenzy again. I can't believe how long it takes to get stuff!! :)

  7. Good god you guys, thank you so much for the laughs on this shitty day. I much appreciate it.

I do have to say my favorite smartass t-shirt says:

"I'm sorry I missed church, I've been busy practicing witchcraft and becoming a lesbian."
