Have been reading Darin Hufford's blog. Good stuff. This post talks about emotionalism, about why it is that people can attend Benny Hinn-type meetings and really think they've been touched by God. I do like this dude's take on stuff.
(I will be eternally grateful to myself that when I went up front to be touched by the Lord's anointed, that I didn't fall down ... because nothing happened :)
hurry back. you will be missed
ReplyDeleteHehe...they never could make me fall down, either. I must not be "submitted" enough. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kent :)
ReplyDeleteYes, Erin, that's it. It's the Jezebel spirit in you, girl. Submit to the Lord's anointed.
Thanks Kent :)

Glad I missed you missing me. Great link. Last night I led an Ignatian Prayer and used this dramatic Moby song to underscore it. Afterwards someone said, "you know the Word is powerful enough, I don't need a film score to make me feel God."
ReplyDeletePoint taken.
Wow. That person was very honest. That's cool. They're right. We are so used to being entertained, and so used to underestimating the concentration of people when they're being sparked by Love, ain't we? I guess it's all those ingrained years of being taught that Love was boring, and that you needed to be disciplined and committed to engage with him/her :)
ReplyDeleteI;m glad you didn't fall down. :)
