Bucket List

Sunday, 20 December 2009

Someone told me before about a movie out there called The Bucket List.  It sounds like standard Hollywood formulaic fare, so I don't think I'll add it to the Quickflix queue.

But it's got me thinking.  What would be on my bucket list?  What are the things that I would like to do before I die?

I've only just started writing it, but I know one thing on my list:

Travel.

Always wanted to, never have.  But I think that is a nice little intention to set for next year.

How about you?  What's on your bucket list?

  1. Ooh come to Portland first!

I soooo want to travel, too, especially now because I have all these friends all over the world in the places I want to go. But alas, we have bills and children...maybe one day. Australia and Ireland and even just all over the States.

  2. I'll make you a deal, if you can get your ass to Portland I will meet you up there and then drive you down the 5 to California and along the coast to Southern California! (if I don't have a job that prevents me from taking time off).

  3. Or you could skip getting stuck in the car with me and I will just show you around down here. Of course I shouldn't invite my self to butt in on your time with Erin....

  4. Oh, come to the UK as well, travel up to Scotland and across to Ireland, and of course it's only a quick hop over to France or Belgium on the Eurostar!! Read Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris and he'll tell you have to make enough money to live anywhere and have loads of time to yourself. (Just ignore his obsession with material things and fast cars and concentrate on the advice!)

  5. Erin and Barbara - I'd love to meet up with both of you. But geez, I dunno - America feels a bit too much the same (even though there are vast differences between our countries). Can't we ramp it up a bit and meet in, say, Ireland, or Swaziland? :)

(But sure, if I'm in the area I will be SURE to drop in :)

Tess - yes, all of those places are ticks, especially france (although if I got on a Eurostar I don't think I'd be going anywhere lately according to my news reports :)

That book sounds awesome. Thanks!! :)

    Yes, mustn't forget Wales :)

  6. I've put in a request for that book at the library, Tess. Yummy holiday reading, even though I *do* have about 25 other books I've started and intend to catch up on. But just this one new one to add to the list. And a reread of The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Oh, dontchajust love books? :)
